That said.... This entry is entirely wedding related, so if that's not your jam, turn back now!

I don't have much to do today (got my ring cleaned/polished... SQUEE!!  Soooo shiny!), so I figured I'd shed some light into the details of this shindig we're attempting to plan lol.  Forgive me ahead of time because I've included links to all the shit instead of pictures.  I've done this because a) I'm lazy and b) I don't remember how to embed pics and shit and my brain is dead and I'm not even gonna attempt to try and do it.

So, let's start with colors, shall we?  I don't have pics of these, so use your imagination.  My colors are ivory, peach (liiight peach), and a dusky rose type pink (kinda salmon-y) with navy blue highlights.  Think of ivory, peach, and pink flowers with a navy wrap around the bouquet stems.  I want to keep the colors light as it's an early September wedding, but heading into fall.  And navy is a nice complimentary color all my other colors.  The navy is mostly for accents like table numbers, fonts on the invites/programs, etc.

On to the venue, yes?

We're having the ceremony and reception at The Brownstone in Paterson (http://www.thebrownstone.com/).  We might do the ceremony outside where they have a nice fountain and gazebo, but I'm not sure how seating's gonna work on that, though they've used that area for wedding ceremonies before.  Also, we have to consider weather.  If we decide to have an indoor wedding, we'll get married in the Grand Conservatory, have the coctail hour in the Red Room and Conservatory, and then head back to the Grand Conservatory for the reception (http://www.thebrownstone.com/events-rooms.php).  They're all lovely spaces and I love the glass ceiling/wall in the Grand Conservatory.  Hopefully we'll have a bright sunny day so the room glows for the party!  Don't worry, it's all air conditioned, too, so no one will get heat stroke hopefully haha.

In terms of flowers.... I'm thinking some roses, and some.... other flowers hahaha.  I can barely tell the difference between flowers, I don't know flower names at all, so I'll get back to you on that.

Now, this is pretty big news.... I finally booked an appointment to try on dresses!!!  I'm going next Thursday at 4 pm SQUEEE!!!  Sean, Grammy, and one of my bridesmaids Rachel will be coming with me.  I'm super excited!  I'm a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge fan of Maggie Sottero's dresses, and the boutique we're going to carries her line.  The two dresses I'm interested in trying on are Paigely (http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=paigely&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=15&style=A3196LU) and Cooper (http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?keywordText=cooper&line=m&keywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=15&style=JL1280).  I'm willing to try on other styles, of course.  But those two have my main elements I'm looking for: strapless, sweetheart neckline, some embellishment on the train and bodice, form fitting, not an epic train, no poof.  I'm not averse to trying other styles, though.  So hopefully my fashion consultants (aka Sean, Grammy, and Rachel) can guide me in the right direction haha.

I can't tell you how excited I am to try on dresses!!!!  I'm sooo not girly, but good God, I get to put on a WEDDING DRESS!  For reals!  *giggles uncontrollably*

Ok, so there's what I'm looking for dress-wise.

I got proofs of our potential save-the-dates.  They're... ok.  With a few color/font changes (which I'm 99% sure I can do), I'd like to use them.  This is the design: http://www.magnetstreet.com/details/market/517/productId/22832.  On my screen, the colors are exactly what I want (except the font will be navy instead of grey).  But on the proof, the background is much brighter yellow than it looks on my screen.  I'm pretty sure I can change that to a peach color, though.  It prints on ivory paper and the pink is exactly what I want.  I was gonna go with the magnet route, but the sample magnet they sent was small!  Like one and a half credit cards sized.  That's small, I think!  I dunno, still haven't decided on that yet.  I'll bring the proof by Craig's tonight and see what he thinks.

Is that it?  I felt like I had a shit-ton more to go on and on about haha.  When I got my ring cleaned today, I looked at wedding bands.  Since my engagement ring is a little oddly shaped, my band isn't going to sit fush against it.  Which kinda sucks but at the same time, if it sat flush, you wouldn't see the diamonds on the sides of the band on my engagement ring.  So I looked at a band that has the same design as the band on my e-ring, so I'll probably end up with that.  It looks gorgeous on it's own AND with my e-ring, but I'll sleep on it a bit.  I could get a custom shaped band, and I tried one on, but it looks awkward by itself, as it has a slight (but certainly noticable) curve to it.

I also looked at bands for Craig.  I don't know what he's gonna go for.  His ring is gonna be mad cheap though hahaha.  Even a NICE 18kt white gold band is only like $600 for him haha.  A tungsten band is only like $175 (at least, that's the price the jeweler gave me).  Meanwhile, the band I was looking for for me is like $2600.  Goddamn me and my blingy taste.  Oh well, it's what I like!

 

So that's kind of where I'm at in terms of planning.  These are the bridesmaids dresses I found online and LOVE (http://www.morilee.com/bridesmaids/affairs/896), I just think they're so cute.  And I think it would flatter all the girl's figures.  Only problem is they don't come in navy (which is what I'd like my girls to wear).    Navy dresses with some beige pumps?  Adorbs.  This is another option (http://www.morilee.com/bridesmaids/affairs/895) though I don't love the tie sash and it's a little tight.  Whatever, I'll discuss with the ladies.  None of whom I've actually formally asked to be in my wedding haha.  Details shmetails.

Ok, I'm pooped from writing this.  I was gonna take a nap but I think I'll sew instead.  The Celtic cross I'm working on is slooooooowly coming along.  Dear shittin JESUS am I gonna have a lot of backstitching to do on this one.  *sigh*  I have a lot of time to work on it today, though.  Craig's coming home late from work because he finally got his truck back and he's taking the guys from work out on a drive.  Fag lol.
