Weekend shenanigans!

well, this weekend was the bomb.com.
yesterday a bunch of my family went to newcastle for the day. christmas shopping experience. there was me, mum, aunty ann, aunty janice, my cousin's fiancee michelle, her friend leanne and my cousin claire.
the way down there was smooth as a baby's butt. we left at 9am and got to newcastle at 11:40am, then we caught the train to the metrocentre and were there before noon. then we split up and went our ways, and i got some decent shopping done. i bought.. a luigi plush pillow thing, which i absolutely adore, a box of Jack Daniels fudge (helltothefuckyes!) a stuffed penguin for my grandma, two snuggies, one for me and my mum, and a Kylie Minogue giftset (from me to me, thankyou very much!)
then we met up again at 2:30 and had something to eat. very delicious scampi and chips and mushy peas!
then my mum, aunty ann and i went shopping together, OH AND I GOT A BLACK FOREST HOT CHOCOLATE FROM COSTA. that place is just.. my new best friend. i love love love love it.
anyways. so mum and i went into this phone shop to get a new phone. it was around 4:15 by this time. we agreed to meet at the entrance of metrocentre at 5pm. i thought we had time to get a new phone set up, and i explained the situation to the sales guy, that we had to get this done asap. well, of course, we were running mega late. we got out of the shop at 5:10, and the rest of the girls had gone on without us, at my request, and were waiting for us in newcastle.
so, as i said, we left the shop at 5:10, got to the train station at just after 5:15, and we JUST missed the train! so angry about that!
so we legged it to the taxi rank and got a taxi back to newcastle. it cost a lot of money, but the train back to glasgow was leaving at 5:37, and i had the reservation so if i didn't get to the train before the doors closed, we all would have needed to buy a new train ticket, which would cost us at least £200!
BUT. i made it. just about. the train was at the platform and the doors were open when i spotted my aunty janice. i reeeeeeeeeally had too much exercise lol. i was exhausted.
AND THEN! got on the train. and i realised that i was missing a bag. go figure that it was the bag that had my mum's phone in it!
so i spend the next hour and a half on michelle's phone to the taxi company, my mum's phone company and the shop we bought the phone from, trying to get a resolution. it wasn't resolved until this morning, when the taxi driver called my mum and said he had the phone, and that if we send the postage stamp down, he'd send it up to glasgow.
happy ending there, thankfully.
SO! when we got back into glasgow, we went pub hopping for a while before we settled in this one pub, stayed there for the rest of the night. i drowned my sorrows and left with my mum and my aunty ann. GO FIGURE THAT I LOSE SOMETHING ELSE IN THE PUB! my gran's christmas present! luckily for me, michelle picked it up.
And that was my saturday!
today, i met michelle in town and we went shopping, primarily to get me an outfit for the christmas night out next friday. I BOUGHT A DRESS! well, michelle convinced me. she's a fantastic style consultant. i'd have never even looked at the things that i looked at if it weren't for her. my outfit is perfect. i'm in love with it. i can't wait to show people next week. and i got my penguin back!
that was my weekend. so so good. :)
